Calpe Rowing
Rowing training with a strong junior tradition, ideal for children who like structured sport and time on the water.
About
Calpe Rowing is one of Gibraltar’s longest-established sports clubs, with a history going back to the nineteenth century. That gives it a very different feel from a newer after-school activity: it reads as a proper club with deep roots, traditions, and a long competitive history.
The club is also closely tied to junior development. Public coverage of Calpe highlights strong results at junior level and describes it as one of the Gibraltar rowing clubs competing regularly at British championships, which makes this one feel like a serious pathway for children who want to develop in the sport rather than simply try it once a week.
For parents, rowing can be a strong fit for children who like discipline, endurance, teamwork, and being outdoors, but do not necessarily want a conventional ball sport. Calpe comes across as structured, competitive when needed, and very club-based in the traditional sense.
