THINGS TO DO
Growing Artists Programme
Weekly art groups including Mini Makers, Art Squad, Arteam, and a youth group, all built around hands-on creative work.
About
Growing Artists is one of the strongest creative routes on the site for children who like art but do not want a one-size-fits-all class. The programme is split clearly by age and stage, which makes the groups feel much more purposeful than one mixed art session for everyone.
The current weekly setup includes Mini Makers for ages 1 to 5, Art Squad for ages 6 to 10, ARTeam for ages 9 to 12, and a Youth Group that takes part in community projects and artist-led workshops. Across the programme, children are introduced to different artists, materials, and techniques rather than repeating the same kind of craft each week.
The wider programme also says it is designed to keep workshops low-cost or free where possible and to support young people from different backgrounds. So this one reads as a proper community arts hub as much as an ordinary after-school class, with a good mix of creative freedom, artist-led structure, and longer-term opportunities.
